Art and Design

At St George’s Primary School we believe that art is a vital part of children’s education. Our curriculum helps to develop creativity, provides challenges, inspires and engages the children and allows them to express their ideas and create their own works of art.

As pupils progress we believe they will be able to use the skills they have acquired to think critically and build a deep understanding of a range of media. The children are encouraged to become self-reflective by making observations and evaluating their work, helping them to make informed decisions for future projects.

The children will have access to a selection of quality resources to allow them to explore their creativity in order to reach their potential. Through these resources they can create a variety of projects from new media art in our Computer suite to school wide collaborative displays.
