Design and Technology

At St George’s Primary School our Design and Technology curriculum encourages problem solving, individually and as a team through the exploration of designers, engineers, architects and chefs, preparing our pupils for the modern World. We want our children to be inspired by these experts so they are able to design a range of mechanisms, structures, electrical systems and food products with a real life purpose.

They will use a variety of different tools, materials and components to perform these practical tasks.

The pupils are encouraged to evaluate the uses and impact of their designs and other existing technology. Through this they become reflective learners to help influence their future creations. We want them to take risks and to be innovative in their ideas exploring their creativity and imagination.
