Pastoral Support

At St George’s our vision of aspirational opportunities for all is rooted in the belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive—academically, emotionally, and socially.

Our pastoral support plays a vital role in enabling pupils to flourish by removing barriers to learning and nurturing wellbeing. We provide a wide range of support tailored to individual needs, including access to a trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) who helps children develop emotional understanding, confidence, and resilience. Our dedicated Pastoral Manager works closely with both pupils and families, offering support, guidance, and care whenever it’s needed. For children requiring more specialist help, we offer access to counselling, ensuring no child feels alone in facing challenges. Across the school, we’ve created calming nurture spaces and Nests—safe, quiet areas where pupils can go to self-regulate, reflect, and feel supported. These spaces promote emotional growth and readiness to learn, so that every child is in a position to access the full richness of school life. Through this holistic approach, we ensure that our vision is lived out daily: that every child, regardless of their background or personal circumstances, has the opportunity to grow, succeed, and aspire with confidence.
