Pastoral Support

At St George’s our vision of aspirational opportunities for all is rooted in the belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive—academically, emotionally, and socially.

Our pastoral support plays a vital role in removing barriers to learning and nurturing each pupil’s wellbeing.

We offer a wide range of tailored support, including access to a trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) who helps children build emotional understanding, confidence, and resilience.

Our dedicated Pastoral Manager works closely with pupils and families to provide guidance, care, and support whenever it’s needed. For children who require more specialist help, we also offer access to professional counselling—ensuring that no child faces challenges alone.

Across the school, we’ve created calming nurture spaces and Nests—safe, quiet areas where pupils can reflect, self-regulate, and feel supported. These spaces are designed to promote emotional growth and prepare children to fully engage with learning.

Through this holistic, compassionate approach, we live out our vision every day: that every child—regardless of background or circumstance—has the opportunity to grow, succeed, and aspire with confidence.
