Supporting Charities and Making a Difference

At St George’s, we are proud of our strong commitment to helping others, both locally and nationally. As a school rooted in Christian values, we believe in showing love, care, trust, respect, and sharing—values that are brought to life through our charitable work throughout the year.

We support a wide range of causes, including national campaigns such as Red Nose Day and Children In Need, which bring our school community together in fun, creative ways to raise money and awareness for vital projects. From fancy dress days to bake sales and sponsored events, pupils enthusiastically take part in fundraising while learning about the lives of others and the importance of social justice.

Closer to home, we regularly support the Sheppey Foodbank, collecting essential items to help local families in need. These collections are often linked to key moments in the Christian calendar, such as Harvest and Advent, helping pupils reflect on gratitude and the spirit of giving.

We also mark events like Odd Socks Day to support Anti-Bullying Week, celebrating the uniqueness of every individual and promoting inclusion and respect throughout our school.

A special part of our charity work is empowering pupils to choose causes close to their hearts. Whether supporting local animal shelters, raising funds for health charities, or responding to local community initiatives, our School Council and pupil leaders play a key role in decision-making and planning events.

Through all of our charitable efforts, we aim to nurture a culture of empathy, community, and active citizenship. These experiences help our pupils grow into thoughtful, responsible young people who understand that even small actions can make a big difference.

Together, we are proud to be a school that gives back.
