Reading Dragons

St George’s Reading Dragons were formed in 2023 and are comprised of pupils from Year 1 to Tear 6.  They are elected by their class-mates, but all have a passion for reading.  As a Reading Dragon it is their role to promote Reading for Pleasure in their classrooms and throughout the school.

They have been involved in many events:  Painting of the library murals alongside Ellen McDermott BA, reading a visiting author, Kate Williams, poems during World Book Day celebrations, the Christmas Advent Reads, organising a readathon to raise funds for a Community Free Library, creating a Reading Recommendation Tree in our school library and supporting the many reading competitions we have throughout the year.
