St George's Church of England

Primary School

Aspirational opportunities for all, through the breath of God

Welcome

"We celebrate all that we do, our successes and our learning, our achievements and our support of one another. Jesus showed this through his compassion for the whole community when he gathered the crowds to him"

Welcome to St. George’s Church of England Primary School.  As a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School, we lead the community by following the teachings of Christ through holistically ensuring excellence for all. Through our happy, secure and stimulating environment all members of the school community grow in self-esteem and potential. Their spiritual, academic and social needs are celebrated as part of daily life.

We are a successful school with a strong Christian ethos set in the delightful Minster area with close links to Minster Abbey our local church.

The staff and governors of the school are committed to providing all pupils with a secure and caring environment in which they develop lively and enquiring minds, confidence and skills. Our record of accomplishment is exemplified in consistently good attainment for our children. The staff and governors of the school aim to provide the children with an education that is broadly based and tailored to meet the children’s individual needs. We provide a caring and happy positive atmosphere in which a child may fulfil his/her potential and grow in self-confidence and respect for the people and environment around them.

We are committed to the ideal of a partnership in education between home and school and, to this end, prospective parents are invited to visit the school and meet the staff and children. Home learning actively celebrates this partnership during celebration events.

We take every opportunity to celebrate our School with photos and pictures in the local press and our own social media pages. You can follow us on our page on Facebook. Please check our website for regular updates.

Mr Fisher; our Head Teacher;

I have been in education for over twenty-seven years and a Head Teacher for eighteen of these years, fourteen of which have been here at St George’s, although I occasionally support other school's in the trust.  I have worked across a number of schools in Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire and London. I am really lucky to have a great Deputy Head of School in Mrs Spoerry who has a wealth of experience and has worked here for a number of years as well.  We are also supported by great leaders in our Assistant Head and SENCO Miss Hill and our super middle leaders. We have a knowledgeable and experienced team of teachers, support staff, site manager, and administration team. Our team of Governors provide strong challenge and support and we value all their contributions to making the school the best it can be.
